Playstation Sixaxis controller
You guys may have heard of the new Playstation Sixaxis controller. It’s a new controller developed by Sony, and is a great improvement from the original controller.
The new Sixaxis controller now features a sensitive motion sensing system, similar to that of the Wii-mote (Nintendo Wii Remote) however it’s motion sensitivity is not that high compared to the Wii-mote, although it can still provide a full six degrees of freedom.
There is now growing support for the Sixaxis controller in games, ranging from the sci-fi third-person shooter Warhawk to the road-raging Motorstorm. As seen here, the controller integrates itself perfectly with the games, and provides fluent, fun gameplay.
The Sixaxis controller is now also wireless, following the trends of similar next-gen console controllers. Featuring Bluetooth technology, the Playstation 3 can now handle up to 7 wireless Sixaxis controllers at the same time, making multiplayer matches more intense and fun. The controller can also be seamlessly changed from wireless to wired and charged via a USB controller if needed, able to sustain up to 30 hours of battery life.
Although it has many features, the controller doesn’t have vibration features. Why is there no rumble feature added?
Sony, with its last Dualshock controller, was sued by a company called Immersion, who developed the rumbling features in the first place. Due to this, Sony is not able to introduce rumble features, although it is possible, as seen in the Wii-mote.
Despite this, the Sixaxis controller is still formidable and extremely powerful, and definately worth your money.
