Yay boxes! Orange? OMG NO, It’s Valve!

by Tommy Tseng

Hey guys,

It seems that the PS3 will be getting its share of Half Life “Orange Box” ’several weeks’ later than the Xbox and PC versions. The release date is now November 13th.

And there are rumours! that the PS3 version is being ported over by EA so this lateness may be attributed to EA, not Valve. And as always, EA games are a bit..’shoddy’ if you know what I mean…*cough* Battlefield 2142 rushed too much *cough*.

Just my 2 cents.

Lair-better with new firmware release!

by Tommy Tseng

Hey guys,

It seems that with the new Firmware 1.92 release, Lair’s motion-sensing movements and control have been improved!

Lair, released just a few weeks ago, received very low reviews. I couldn’t believe it myself, so I checked the reviews out, including IGN’s. With all the HD visuals and graphics, the game was really good-however, the motion-sensing movements became rigid and stubborn, and the game got a little repetitive.

So with the new adjustments and improvements, Lair may just become a great game after all!

Timesplitters 4 woooh!

by Tommy Tseng

Free Radical, the makers of the Timesplitters series has announced that Timesplitters 4 is in development for the PS3 and Xbox 360!

There has also been rumours that it will be PS3 + PC exclusive! The Timesplitters series has been classic shooters, and if Sony pulls this off..well, yay for them.

Well, all in all, it has still been confirmed that the game is in development for the PS3, so get ready for more fun!

Oh noes, gah? Demo me, Epic!

by Tommy Tseng

Hey guys!

It seems that Epic will not be releasing a PS3 demo of Unreal Tournament 3 before it ships in November. They can choose between working on the demo or the full game. Of course the full game!

We’re not a big huge company with the resources to do that, and all the time we’re testing that demo we’re not testing our full game, which we need to be doing constantly.

PC gamers will be getting their fair share of ‘trying before buying’, which would actually benefit Epic more and help them fine-tune UT3. (also easier too!)

Haze-exclusive! + The PS3=greener than 360!

by Tommy Tseng

Hey guys!
Sorry I haven’t been posting lately, been real sick (big flu-thing going around Australia right now, Winter was bad), but now I’m feeling a bit better!

And its September 1st, the first day of Spring!~

Ok, well onto PS3 news: Haze is now exclusive!

And as you know, the PS3 needs as many exclusives right now, as even MGS4 might go to the Xbox 360.

Ubisoft has announced that the PS3 is now the “lead console” and will be the only console the game will be shipping for when it releases in November. +1 for November goodies!

Also on a nice note-the PS3 is doing good energy wise! Seems that using a Kill a Watt device, the Xbox 360 Elite uses 194 watts (the large “brick” in the power cord + whirring fans in box and power supply), the PS3 171 watts and the Nintendo Wii just coming in at 17 watts.

Obviously the Wii is good energy-wise, as it can’t do even as much as the PS3 or 360 can, but seeming as the PS3 is meant to be the ‘ultimate’ console, Sony must have spent time tweaking the amount of power going in-they thought of Mother Earth ;)

That’s a nice start to Spring and September ;)

With Leipzig comes more..videos!

by Tommy Tseng

Hey guys!

More video fun today!
This time: Metal Gear Online! For those of you that don’t know it, its the standalone online version of MGS4. And proves to be very promising, at that!

Leipzig = gaming convention = videos!

by Tommy Tseng

Hey guys!

What would be a nice fresh start to the week…maybe some Leipzig game videos?

I’ve got here for you some jam packed goodies! Call of Duty 4 AND 20 minutes of Killzone 2 footage!

Seems like both will be VERY fun on the PS3.

I must say, Killzone 2 DOES look better than the CG in some places..

Rumble with the PS3! ..and Leipzig coverage, of course

by Tommy Tseng

Hey guys!

It seems like rumours are that a PS3 Dual Shock 3 controller will be released…along with GT5:Prologue! In November!

And speaking of November, I think it may well be the highlight month for all gamers this year….and this next statement may well add to the hype!

News from Leipzig! Call of Duty 4 has been dated…..for (mark this down guys) November 5th.

And mark down November 15th and November 17th if I’m not mistaken..think I am though.
Those are the dates for Crysis and Unreal Tournament 3 respectively!

Although Crysis may not be on the PS3 at first, rumours are it will be….just later.

Heck, why not take the whole of November off…you’ll be busy playing CoD4, Unreal Tournament 3, and CoD4! And a few more goodies at that!

Seems like the PS3 has been revealed to be able to record digital TV! You can stream it to your PSP, download it staright to your USB, or even watch it on your PSP while you record another show. Awesomeness! To the max!

Metal Gear Online!

by Tommy Tseng

Hey guys!

Did some digging and found some pretty awesome information about the new upcoming Metal Gear Online!

Metal Gear Online is a standalone PS3 game that will feature up to 16 players pitted against each other based on the MGS4 gameplay and setting.

The player can upgrade skills that the character can use such as hacking, CQC mastery and more, which can be leveled up. The player can keep tabs on allies and enemies with nanomachines.

Players will have the ability to “hack” another player’s character to steal information from their nanomachines, such as the locations of his allies. This is is how the SOP system from Metal Gear Solid 4 is going to be implemented as a gameplay feature in MGO.

And it seems like you can participate in the online beta test! However, it’s Only in Japan. Sorry guys!
If your in Japan and your interested, go here: https://mgo2web.konami.com/jp/mgo2/t4176020/mgo_beta/ and it should steer your direction towards entering. Only 3000 players from all the people who signed up will be selected. Dunno if you still can sign up, as it’s only about 4 days before the actual test…but do give it a try!

Of course, naturally, there’s some screenshots for you here to feast on!
