New PS3 sku!

by

Hello everybody!

PS3

Sony has submitted a new FCC! There’s a brand new 40GB PS3 sku and it will be released on November 16th! This PS3 will be priced at $399, offering a more affordable alternative to the 60GB and the more recent 80GB released. Sony has been trying to keep this new sku secret since they do not want to harm sales of the retail PS3 skus already in circulation. It also seems that this sku is coming with some goodies - Dual Shock THREE, and improvements to many areas including Wifi and Bluetooth.

The PS3 sku will include a new 65nm processor, a Dual Shock 3 controller and also be far less power hungry than before.
WiFi and Bluetooth has also been upgraded and now have more power in them. They will now be able to detect various networks and devices with greater ease.

That means, if you have 4 friends living close to each other, you might be able to play LAN multiplayer! Faster too, so no one will have problems and blame lag as not owning someone with a headshot in CoD4 or even Killzone 2 ;)

The FCC filing will go public 45 days from September 4th unless something changes.

Seems better than playing Super Mario on the Wii, or helping Brandon over at Gaming MMO with opinions on the newest Guild Wars add on: Eye of the North doesn’t it? (By all means help him :P)
