GameSwitch PS3-S201!

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Hey guys,

Exciting news today!
It seems that GameSwitch PS3-S201 has been announced!
What is it?
It’s a program that allows YOU to run your PS3 console on DVI monitors - without the HD protection!
If this is developed, then in the future, HDCP-certified monitors may not be needed in the near future to play Blue-ray movies and games!

It is quite interesting at this point, as in the future who knows what hackers will crack next-making the PS3 boot Windows?

Well, that is a feat that could be done, and many people would sure love it!

Have fun, and as always, stay tuned!

The end of the month!

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Hey guys! It’s the end of the month!

And of course, exciting new information!

If you’ve ever played the Playstation 2, you may have used the Rumble feature at some time. The thick, heavy controllers were always fun to use, and the occasional shaking and rumble added well to the gaming atmosphere.

Well guess what, it may be back!
3rd party companies are already developing the rumble feature to be integrated into Sony’s SIXAXIS, and it appears that Sony is also doing it.

Exciting news!

Along with that, there’s quite a big load of upcoming games next month, first off, one of the best (in my opinion), Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas!

The graphics are just too good.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas - June 12
Go! Puzzle - June 14
The Darkness - June 25
Ninja Gaiden Sigma - June 26
Lair - June 31

Lair too, is an exciting new release! Featuring dragon flying and combat, if you haven’t seen the gameplay videos, I suggest you go find them!

Or better yet, I’m putting them on here tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Have fun,
Tommy

Hello again!

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay in announcements, there have not been many, but rest assured-the PS3 Network is still buzzing with activity!

First up on our agenda is Call of Duty 4!

Call of Duty 4 is the next game in the CoD series, and this time it is centered around a modern conflict! (Mondern shooters unite!)
Along with a brand new multiplayer and single player experience, the graphical element will also be significantly improved, adding depth of field, rim-lighting, character self-shadowing real-time post processing and many more to give players the most realistic and exciting war experience they’ve ever had.

Be a sniper, super secret night spec-ops, or even part of a large counter terrorist assault squad! All can be achieved in the brand new CoD4.

Trailer’s here, for ya’ll to enjoy!

Also on our agenda- Sony and it’s Blue Ray format!

Seems like Sony hit another bummer-this time it’s being sued over its Blue Ray format!

Target Technology have filed lawsuits against three Sony companies, claiming that the silver-based alloy thin film was invented by them.

If they succeed, it’s the second bummer for Sony after it’s Dualshock incident…..

And that’s it for today!

Stay tuned for more info!

Hacking the PS3? Why, never!

Friday, May 18th, 2007

Hey guys,

Seems like so early on, the hacking geniuses are already at work vying to do ’stuff’ with the PS3.

‘Pizzag’, over at the Afterdawn forums, has found out a way to play PS2 backups on his PS3! He has managed to do it by going down to Radio Shack, and buying a 3 way toggle switch.

Seems like quite a detailed tutorial, however if you want to risk your PS3, and $5 for the 3 way toggle switch (which I recommend you spend on shares or chocolate instead), then do go ahead and play those backups! (Highly recommend these are legal backups you have…)

Head over to Afterdawn forums and check it out if you want!

Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow!

Hey guys,

Ever wondered if the Killzone game on PS3 is ever going to shape up as the way you wanted it? If it’s graphics are so truly ‘next-gen’?

Well, wonder no more, for the love of fun the Killzone Public Beta will be here soon!
Seb Downie of Guerilla Games (Killzone’s producer), has stated that:

“Of course there is going to be a public beta, I have always said that any game that has an online mode needs to go through a public beta to ensure it works as intended.”

This is indeed fantastic news! This means that you will be able to play a Killzone multiplayer online beta!

So for those still waiting for the Halo 3 beta, switch over now before you waste your time! From the leaked videos, Halo 3 seriously represents the first Halo somehow, with the same engine and graphics…nothing new, except for people riding miniaturized buggies.

Well, we now know the why, what, who, where, but the largest question still remains: when?

Sure hope it’s soon ;)

On other news, the marvellous game of flOw on the Playstation Network has dropped to $5.99, from $10! That’s a massive decrease of $4.01!

If you do not know what flOw is, then please email me at LightningBurgers@gmail.com and be sure to have a large review waiting for you!

As always, have fun, and stay tuned for more information at your favourite site, PS3 Rally!

Oh my, Command and Conquer! Oh my, PS3! Oh my, both together!

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

Hey guys,

Let’s put all that ‘title’ information into more understandable terms:

Rating power, on a scale from 1 to 10:

Command and Conquer 5
Playstation 3 5
Xbox 360 0 (Sorry, but this is a PS3-pro site :P)

Thus, if you did primary school maths.
C&C3 + PS3 = 10

Thus, Super power!

Ok ok, anyway, getting to the point…..

Rumours have scaled that there may be a PS3 version of Command and Conquer 3 in the works, in addition to the already released Xbox 360 and PC version.

We haven’t officially confirmed anything, but I don’t see why it’s not feasible, (Senior Producer Mike Glosecki) “The controls are practically the same.”

Well, this comes of great news! Command and Conquer 3 was indeed an awesome, well-polished game, and on the PS3 it may just have a large fan base waiting for it…

More news as it comes, of course!

Sony says No.

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

Hey guys, sorry about not many news as I have had a massive load of work that needs to be done, and I have been partly sick (long hours + sickness + allergies call for quite a bad week). Kind of better now, so yeah ;)

Well, it seem that with all the pre-paid card goodness that can be brought to online systems and shops, Sony seems to be wanting none of it!

Sony has announced that they have ‘absolutely zero intenton of releasing any pre-paid cards for the Playstation Network in Europe.’

Well, bummer! All that can be done now to purchase anything off the Playstation Network is via a credit card, so sorry to those under 18s who own a PS3 (quite a large group, I can say!).

Until Sony Entertainment Europe realises that they are losing tons of money and popularity off this, all you can do now is either:

a) Move to Japan and start playing PS3 and buying your pre-paid cards there
b) Use a credit card
c) Write a complaint letter to SCEE (which will be likely to be ‘accidentally misplaced and seen only once’)
d) Get a lot of people and rally across your city
e) Hibernate for an ‘undefined amount of time’ until the cards come out.

Have fun guys. Tons of info coming out tomorrow (hopefully!)

-Your awesome writer, Tommy

Hey!

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

Hey guys,

Just been really sick these few days, start of the late autumn~winter season is not good, since I practically already have a cold 24/7, 365 days a week…but that’s another story ;)

Interesting news!

Nintendo Wii = Wii Points
Microsoft Xbox360 = Xbox Live Marketplace Points
Playstation PS3 = ?????

Yep, it’s Playstation Network Pre paid cards!

They are called ‘PlayStation Network Tickets‘, and are only currently offered in Japan. Four types of ‘tickets’ will come out, ranging from 1000 Yen, 3000 Yen, 5000 Yen and 10000 Yen. 1000 Yen = $12~15 AUS, so probably $12 US and 10 Euros.

Hooray for Sony and the Playstation Network~

Stay tuned for more information, on your favourite website, PS3 Rally! (I will always try, even if sick in bed ;) )

PS3-P2P-PSP?

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

Hey guys,

Back from a fun Mayfest holiday! Mmm that sure feels good!

Anyway, great news!
Seems like Sony is going to be putting a P2P(Peer to Peer) file-sharing service on the Playstation 3 soon! This means that extremely large file transfers can happen, along with HD movies and more! It will be like Bittorent, but Sony will be hosting it, thus blocking out piracy and the other ‘illegal’ stuff.

Playstation Network + Playstation Home + Playstation Peer to Peer system = Domination.
The P2P system will definately help the Playstation Network as this would reduce service costs, which may reduce content prices!

Be sure to stay tuned for more information at PS3 Rally!

There are some bad, bad people out there.

It seems as there has been an unfortunate incidient…a man has been stabbed to death over a Playstation 3.

According to San Francisco police, a 31 year old man has been stabbed to death over a Playstation 3.

The reports coming out state that Hani Attia tried to confront the man who stole the PlayStation 3 from two women. The confrontation took place around 9 p.m. on Monday night. The man who stole the console was attempting to sell it for a profit. One of the ladies with the man got the console back but unfortunately Hani Attia who was simply trying to help the women, got stabbed in a confrontation with the thief.

It’s a Playstation 3…as highly valued as it gets, it’s not worth killing a man over a few hundred dollars of entertainment is it?

I hope he does get caught, and jailed for a very long time, along with all the other thieves and crooks who have shot, hurt and killed innocent civilians over Playstation 3s.

(If you don’t know, at the launch of the Playstation 3 in America, a man was shot over a PS3, and thus, because of this, Sony gave people who bought the PS3 at certain stores in the UK a free Bravia 42″ TV and paid for the taxi ride home, in case of any robbings.
